dishwasher problems

Hi can anybody tell me whats wrong with my whirlpool dishwasher.first of all it didnt drain,i think ive fixed that.but now when i try a cycle it sounds like its gonna work then it sound like it is starting and stopping then stops!.

What is the model & service number? (check the door sticker). When it stops does the start LED flash in a repeating pattern? If so note the sequence & post it here.
