Not sure if this is a software question or Visual question. Anyway any help gratefully received.

Taking photos in a local woodland I have found I need to show most in pairs. Be this Summer, Winter or Close-up, Overview I want two pictures in sinc plus some text.

I tried svBuilder but just one image shown at a time. So tried to write my own java script with some success.

However I then found it did not work on some browsers Internet Explorer was one that would not work.

Although I can test with EI and Firefox trying to work out if Iphones and Mac computers can read in is really a problem.

Here is an example of what I have written http://gw7mgw.freeiz.com/Coed-Nant-Gain/ffestiniog.html works great on Firefox but using a program to write the same type of page would I hope insure it works on most browsers.

Any help welcome even if just saying what can or what can't read the page.

It's OK in Mac "Safari" browser. The background woodland takes a few seconds to load and, when it does, the writing is unreadable until the lighter background loads. Try making the image file size smaller. More compression perhaps.

You ought to correct: "...the camera was getting it is lens misted..." and
"...even the harden enthusiasts..."
and
"...the primeval type plants it is visited..." makes no sense. Some of the other text is also a bit jumbled and hard to understand.

The centred text in the middle is a pain to read. Make it left-justified and use centring only for headings.

The strange creature in the white mask with auburn wig, long white beard and long arms is kinda scary. A young lady in a bikini would be more attractive.

The moving welsh flag is irritating and distracting. Please make it stop.

The link "Coed Nant Gain - Information" doesn't work.

Overall it's an interesting page.

I hope these comments are useful.

Thank you better than I ever expected some items done already some will take a little longer.

I must write an information page. Linked to an old page now so at least not a dead link.

The picture file size has been one of the big issues when I want below level 6 started to see poor results at least on the "The strange creature in the white mask with auburn wig, long white beard and long arms" (We call him Iliff) monitor which is a bit on the big site.

I see what you mean about flag same as used marquee on early versions with moving header.

Cheshire not too far away only next county maybe you fancy a visit? Talking about Coed Nant Gain not Ffestiniog the former just outside Mold. But at last some constructive criticism. While writing reply waiting for Photoshop to load to change flag.

His orignal site is here http://www.naturalforestpractice.com/index.htm but he considered he wanted more pictures and less text and also to remove flash which we know will not work on a Mac.

The guys doing the orignal site are using something called "Joomla" which it seems is designed to give him limited access but in real terms has resulted in so many files for each page it's a nightmare.

His orignal photo gallery http://www.naturalforestpractice.com/Spring-Gallery/springphoto.htm was a problem as the text only appeared when one hovered a mouse over the picture. And only one picture at a time.

I have really been struggling an early attempt here http://gw7mgw.freeiz.com/Coed-Nant-Gain/CNG24.html seemed great and I was very proud only to then find the slider failed with Internet Explorer so I have been slowly going through the pages removing the sliders.

So your answer was a real relief. I thought it would work with a MAC as it worked on IPhone but I was not sure.

Many years ago we took our kids to "The Greenwood Centre". It was interesting but very commercialised. Subsequent visits revealed that it's becoming more of a theme park, with trees as the theme but not a lot of conservation. Nowadays I'm too old to go stumbling around on uneven surfaces but good luck with the project. If you want to make money, it needs a nice wooden visitor centre selling healthy food (= no sugar) and souvenirs.

If you want free "viral" advertising, compile all the articles into a PDF "eBook", with nice colour photos, and encourage people to download and pass it to their friends. Give it a slightly enigmatic title beginning with "How To.." or "The Dummy's Guide To..."

BTW it's not "a MAC" but " a Mac" - short for "Macintosh".

It is not there to make any money. It is purely a hobby Iliff the woodland owner considered he would likely spend as much playing golf so sees it as a hobby.

The main thing being private he can ban all dogs, and shoot the tree rats without some do good group stopping him, so his woodland in miles better than the two public owned woods either end of his.

Yes he does get some grants but if getting the grant means he has to do something not in keeping with his woodland he will just forgo the grant and do it right. Looks as if the felling of evergreen trees is approaching that stage.

His whole idea is to use common sense not to follow a rule book blindly but the public owned woodland carers have their hands tied and one only needs one visit to see how public ownership just does not work. They are more worried about being politically correct then doing the right thing for the woodland.

I was thinking more of covering his costs. Golf costs money. Web sites cost money. Tools cost money.
