Hi, We recently bought a house with a Ariston Eurocombi SX20 MFFICE. On moving in we discovered that when the radiator heating was off we had no hot water. We've worked out that the fault is probably with the diverter valve and on getting a contractor in to quote for fixing it his response was that he could fix it at (whatever the cost was), but that with these boilers we're likely to see other parts failing fairly soon after and that in his mind it's better to replace the whole boiler. With the new condensing boiler regs he figures the price of parts are going to increase accordingly. Now we don't actually know how old the boiler really is - it could be 7 or 8 years old as the telephone number on the manual has a 1 in it (so after the phone numbers all changed), but that seems a little early to change the boiler, unless his diagnosis is correct. Could someone let me know if we're 'being' fleeced or not? Thanks
