Hi

The diverter valve on our Worcester boiler needs to be replaced.

The Honeywell part number for the valve is V4044F 1109.

I am having trouble sourcing this valve. It is a diverter valve with an auxilliary switch.

Could a mid positioned valve ( V4073 ) be wired to operate like a diverter valve ? The reason I ask is that it has an auxilliary switch.

Cheers.

At this stage we are not sure. As you know the diverter valve is very difficult to get to in a HeatSlave. We wanted to have all the spares we may need before removing the existing diverter.

There is the chance that it is just the powerhead is faulty or the ball valve is sticking and it simply needs a touch of WD40.

When the diverter operates it makes a "screeching noise" when it drives from one position to the other. Once it moves across it does however activate the microswitch.

The problem we have is that the CH heats up when only HW is selected.

Any thoughts ?

In that case it sounds as if its only the brass valve part which is tight and needs changing.

Have you tried removing the head and lubricating the shaft with silicone based oil or even DS40? Thats if the shaft is tight. However it may be the internal parts which are tight, they are best replaced.

Its most likely that the standard mid position valve body is exactly the same but as always you would have to compare the two side by side.
