I am having a go at fitting my own kitchen.

I am about to fit a built in Washing machine.

Am I right in thinking that I just leave a 600mm gap between 2 units for the washing machine to slot in? And the door attaches to the washing machine!

The fitted washing machine comes with these brackets but no instructions on where they go. I assume one side fits to the top of the appliance and the other bit to the underside of the worktop or something?

Here is a photo of the brackets.

Thanks.

They could be I suppose!

How do you secure the machine to the units either side? or does it just slide in?

Wont it vibrate out of position?

You don't secure the washing machine to anything. If you secure the machine to the units it will rip your units apart within weeks. You let the machine vibrate in its own space to make sure it doesn't make contact with the units and damage them. The washing machine will be weighed down with a big concrete block inside. It won't move anywhere.

Best of luck with it...

Thanks for that.

I am fitting the cabinet next to the washing machine at the moment. How much larger than the machine would you leave the gap? I was thinking 10mm max to give 5mm either side of the machine!

If it has a door to match the units it will need a gap the equivalent size of the unit it "replacer" (i.e. 600mm for a standard size unit).

Leeaving a gap will mean the kitchen looks odd when fitted. I would recommend contacting manufacturer for a set of instructions if not available for download.

Have fitted integrated dishwashers but never an integrated washer.
