We've had our Mira Power shower in for about 10yrs now. It's a digital, thermostatic type where you set the temp and flow by pressing buttons on the remote and reading the displays.

In recent times we've noticed that we're having the temperature up higher and higher to shower. I run it at 43 deg C, my wife at 40 deg.

I recognise that it is winter and that in the summer we'd probably only have it at 37 or 38.

Is it purely that we're feeling colder and so needing more heat to warm us up or, is it to do with the water in the pipes being colder or, is it that the shower is no longer working as it should?

Shouldn't really get cooler, if you see what I mean. Could the temp sensors be starting to run out of calibration, after 10yrs, yeah I guess they could. You wouldn't be able to confirm that though without testing it.

All you need is a probe thermometer and run the shower, the output temp setting of the water should match the actual reading, if not then time to see if any adjustment can be made.

What is the full name of the shower - model number etc if you can find it.

In the winter you will be colder and the air will be cooler, making the water droplets seem cooler, so you need to turn the temperature up to compensate and/or lower the spray head down closer.

Hi,
It's a Mira Vision.
Interestingly, I have just measured the output temperature of the running water as you suggest, using a room thermometer and it is as it says it is.
I guess that as we've gotten older over the 10yrs we perhaps like things a bit warmer it seems :-)

Yup, if it's outputting what is says it should be then it's down to you and how you feel it is, that and it is winter of course (y)
