Hi all

A very quick question.

I've just had my garage converted to a kitchen and the floor was raised up with 75mm of celotex insulation and a concrete screed above. Obviously between these new layers and the old floor there is a bituminous DPM. Therefore do I need a another DPM beneath the laminate flooring underlay I am about to lay?

If so why?

Thanks.

technically - No

But we have had a few problems with garage conversions recently, so as a company we will not install laminate in conservatorys or garage conversions unless we use an underlay with a DPM built into it.

The extra cost isnt huge and at least you have peace of mind
