Do I need protection?

Hi,
I'm running my 25mm MDPE from the front door through to my kitchen and the run takes me down the hall and across the dining room.

The hall way is soil and I'm having to cut a channel in the concrete floor of the dinign room.

I would imagine I will need some protection for the MDPE going through the concrete floor - am I right? If so what is suitable?
Do I need anything when laying over the soil (its hard soil with a lot of flint so I am concerned with it wearing through over time).
