Hello hoping someone can help. I’ve got a small room I’m turning into shower room, one wall is a stud wall, one wall is breeze block (previously a large door opening) and one wall has plasterboard (moisture resistant board). The shower will be positioned on the stud wall. I plan to tile the shower area and then rest of room will be plastered and painted.
So the question is …
Should I fit a polythene vapour barrier sheet behind the plasterboard/cement board? I plan to also tank the plasterboard/cement board with a Mapei Waterproof Tanking Kit.
Thanks in advance

No, vapour barriers are more about insulation and air flow. Using the tanking kit is a good shout and should theoretically mean it doesn’t matter what’s behind it
