Hi all,

We moved into this place in the summer and I noticed on the top floor where the walls meet the ceilings, the tape seems to have been cowboy'd. Double checked with my neighbour whos got a surveyor wife and he says it was dodgy decorators and not roof movement.

How would i go about fixing this? stanley knife / sander / caulk n paint?

Cheers,
Craig

I always say that scrim tape is better than that 'solid' tape - once it moves there's no easy way to repair without pulling it off, and that will be messy.

I wouldn't say 'dodgy decorators' - this is something the plasterers have done.

It could be just settlement that has caused this mess.

A good decorator could sort this out. A rubbish one won't.

A good plasterer could put this right, but most won't be interested in such as small job as they are all too busy earning a bomb on larger jobs.
