I have a felted flat roof which has just about reached the end of its life and I'm planning to replace with a GRP fibreglass roof. Also the facia and soffit timber work is rotten so will be replaced with uPVC.
The existing roof has quite a high heat loss so I'm planning on topping up the insulation and adding a layer of kingspan to the top of the roof.
Here's the existing roof and a cross section
I'm planning on creating this sort of thing. Is this ok or do I need to batten the top of the kingspan for ventilation?
Under where the guttering is which is where the joists end is a little ventilation strip. What's this for and does it need to be retained?
I'm I missing anything else obvious?
Thanks
