Definitely prime, as stated, and if using a waterbased system, use a good quality primer as most plywood is made from hardwood which often produces resinous bleed.
Sounds a bit of a pain, actually. All I am trying to produce is a couple of pieces to go behind a newly installed WC to hide an unsightly vertical soilpipe. I have cut out the two pieces but wonder if I would be better using them as a template to cut two equal pieces from an a (already) painted MDF bath panel.
OK, sw. I need to have these pieces painted and ready to seal for Sunday. If, as recommended, I am to use a primer, a couple of layers of u/coat and a topcoat could you suggest any paints that will allow me to achieve this in the said time as I am more than happy to give it a bash.
Well it needs to compliment the white ceramic of the WC but I am not sure that means it should be gloss. I had bought a white eggshell paint 'satin' finish but I am not sure that this is the best choice for this task.
