I did a quick search but couldn't find the answer to this specific question:-
We currently have our CH pump located in a bedroom airing cupboard, next to the hot water cylinder. The pump is feeding into a 3 port motorised valve for the H/W and CH. As the pump can get noisy at times (whoosing noises), I was wondering if it would work moving the pump nearer the boiler? the boiler is in the kitchen on a lower floor. This would increase the distance between the pump and motorised valve, and would be on the same part of the flow pipe.
Would this work? Would it hinder flow rates/pump performance etc?
btw, I know I should be addressing the noise issue first - i'm working on that but thought i'd weigh up other options. Have tried bleeding system and changing pump - think it might be sludge. Installing a magnaclean and powerflush might be required.
cheers!
