Thought I'd give an update in case anyone else has the same problems...... there was air in the system, probably coming in from the manual bleed valve in the airing cupboard so he fitted an automatic air vent.... however the rads were still overheating as was the water so he's changed the PCB and all looking good now, Cheers everyone for your input
