the more heavy the metal the stronger it is.

if you need to ask what you need to build it then I would suggests its outside your joinery knowledge.
however since you have asked, I will answer...

you will need a suitable strong shelf racking system and some very decorative wood.

the shelf brackets for the large desk area may need to be a specialist part.
I have no idea where you would find them.

my best suggestion would be ebay.

4500 quid for some black twin slot and a few bits of light hardwood? Wow..

not sure twin slot would be strong enough? At 50kg per bracket, what do you plan on putting on the desk that will overload this? (there are probably better places to have sex..)

Just go to IKEA and get similar for £50.

It would actually cost you £4.539 at todays exchange rate.

Ikea/Habitat etc probably do similar for less than £100
In fact I'd be surprised if it cost you much more than that to build your own.
If you were to buy this from America you would have to assemble it yourself anyway.

Four and a half grand for that. Shurely Shome Mishtake.

Thanks for your help guys! I am not going to be making it myself, a friend is but I am making a preliminary list as to what materials i will need. In regards to the desk itself I love the look of it being floating but if im only going to be using the standard twin slot uprights (or triple but i havnt found any yet) then its never going to support so I will need front leg supports for the desk.

Any way of getting around this to be more like the design?

Good kitchen fitter could knock that up for a few hundred quid.

It looks more like something you would put in your garage to hang a few tools on.

If you need the shelf brackets to be heavy duty, then how about making the steel work from Unistrut and having it spray painted in your choice of colour.... Cupboards could be done by any cabinet maker and again done in any colour or grain that you like
