Door handle

Handle has gone 'limp', (steady now) probably some spring inside has broken/snapped. When handle is used to open door it doesn't spring back up to horizontal position

Common problem in my house (children). Lock works fine. Can anyone suggest what's wrong and how to fix it.

Remove the handle & fit new spring plates if you can get them! or you may have to buy a complete new handle.

Wooden or UPVC door ?.

If the latter, it could be a sign of the mechanism going down-hill.
