Hi there.

Had a bit of a party at our house last night and the front door was kicked in. The part that the lock goes into in the frame has been ripped off along with a bit of wood from the door frame. I've managed to reattach the 2nd part of the lock so the door does lock but its obviously not perfect and probably isnt as strong as it should be.

Do you think i'll have to get a new door frame fitted or can a new piece of wood be fitted where the lock was?

Thanks

From reading your post I assume it was a Yale lock ,so I would say it could be repaired ,not the most secure locks ithe world are they.Iassume you have a approved mortise lock on the front door also that complies with your part of any contract you might have with any insurance companies .If you have not got a mortise lock ,I would recommend you have one fitted for peace of mind
