Can any one help me?

My mains wired doorbell has suddenly started buzzing as if it is permantley stuck on, Does any one know how to fix it? I've tried switching the fuse box off but this doesn't help as it still buzzes when I switch it on again..

:?

Well if remove the fuse dosnt stop it, its not wired via the fuse.
Are you sure you are pulling the correct fuse.
Can you disconnected the push button, probably got water in or just stuck

Hydro electric from a turbine in the rainwater down pipe is a good option these days.

But if you have pulled the fuse and it is still buzzing then it is not wired to that fuse. Try the other fuses.

Very obscure ""buzzing fault "" was a loose piece of wall paper edging and a draught through the oversized hole in the door where the cable came through and vibrated the paper.

Or you have a bee / wasp / nest of them in the bell or close by,

The sun is cracking the pavement up here right now. I'd put my shorts on but I have a bad case of knees.

Do you mean it stops buzzing when you turn the power off ?

Is it the bell/ chime or the transformer that is buzzing ?

Does ring / chime whatever normally when you push the door bell ?

Is there a bulb in the door push button and have you changed it recently ?
( wrong bulb can make the bell / chime unit buzz as the current for the buld is flowing through the bell / chime but with the right bulb this current is too low to operate the bell / chime.

Guys (thump on head emotion).............LoL

The OP says that when he turns the fuse back on, the buzzer is still buzzing.
I've tried switching the fuse box off- but this doesn't help, as it still buzzes- when I switch it on again
:D

He thinks that turning the fuse off and on will do a "reset", it won't.

Take the bell push off disconnect the wires, Turn the supply back on, no buzzer.

Dab the wires together (it's only 6-12v DC), buzzer works

Well I'd suggest you need to replace or service the bell push- sounds like it's jammed or failed in the 'on' position.

Reading lessons for all those that haven't read the thread as it was intended

Aha. OP only says mains wired. No mention of a transformer. Now just suppose it is wired directly into the mains..... Dab the wires together and....Frrrzzzzappppp.

It wouldn't be the first time. I have removed a door push which switched the mains supply to the transformer.
