I have been living in a property for six months. Recently I have experienced problems with the door that leads to the balcony, in two occasions. It was impossible to close the door. It happens when it's hot and sunny (the balcony is east orientated) and can close it in the evening. I am very worried about it for security reasons and I wonder whether somebody could advise what to do. I think the material of the frame is pvc. If I decided to get external help, which proffessional could help? a handyman? a carpenter? a builder?

Thanks.

If you need to shut it on the quick, hose it down with cold water to cool it down. It may just need Toe & Heeling method to correct the doors adjustment which you need to know how.

If you're worried because you can't shut it fair enough, the best way is hardwood doors with toughen glass plus a good quality BS1362 locks but more money.

Your best bet is a window fitters who do this all the time, yellow pages should help you or here to start you off. Do you have a local double glazing shop which should be able to advise you.

Glassman on here is a window fitter from Staffordshire if you're near the area may help.
