Doorway advice needed

Hi All

As you see from my pictures I got distracted with a claw hammer before my breakfast this morning and removed one of those annoying metal door frames
I intend to replace it with a archway
what I need to know is the best way to go about this?

any suggestions ? feel free to ask any questions too

Was there a door there before? If so the you have just removed any fire separation from the kitchen and the rest of the house. Also why anyone would want an archway nowadays is beyond me. Do you live in 1983?
