Nightmare - I've just moved into a new house & the previous occupant has managed to lose the keys to the uPVC double-glazed units

Alas, no identifying manufacturers marks on the windows to indicate which company they came from.

I assume that if I drill the locks out I'll be able to open the windows. Pressumably I can then take the handles to a Window company to see if I can get replacements ?

Cheers, Steve

heeelllooo steve serco and welcome

look in the yellow pages/local directory for window repair and maitanance lots of d/g companys do maintanance as well

Steve if you can post a picture someone might recognise the handles :)

Nice one guys... I'll try some local companies.

I'm relieved that I won't have to spend my next few wkends playing driller killa !

Thanks for the advice.[/quote]

I had exactly the same problem with our windows when we moved into our new house. I ended up having to saw off each of the offending handles with a junior hacksaw just to get at the securing screws so that I could remove them.

Luckily the handles only cost about £3 each :D
