Some of our windows situated in such positions, which I admit are older than fifteen years have misted up, and will need replacing. One frame in the bay was dealt with about two years ago has failed to. I have also noticed that the flat roofs have parts where rain water gathers.

Before I go ahead with getting replacement or repairs commissioned, do you think that the water that gathers on the flat roof and bay has contributed to the failures?

Possibly, but not necessarily. Double glazed windows have weep holes at the bottom to let out water. If the glass unit is sealed properly, then water should be able to pass around it without any problems.

As long as there are no holes in the roof that's letting water down into the window units, then you may have to look elsewhere for the problem.

Fifteen years for sealed units is good ...the one that failed within two years could be a number of reasons , none of which I think are connected to the roof...my guess is poor manufacture, was it fitted with a warranty , if so call the people back who supplied it . Even from manufacturesr of sealed units you should get at least a five year warranty ..its whether that has been passed on though
