The G/F has bought a set of three mains voltage halogen downlights to replace the existing low voltage downlights in the lounge.
The lights will be connected to the existing junction box in the ceiling void (obviously following the removal of the old transformer). There are three lights - the centre one is adjacent to the junction box while the others are about two feet on either side of the junction box.
The lights are from Q+B and the instructions say they are to be wired in 1.0mm. However they are double insulated and I cannot find two core 1.0 mm cable (only flex).
Should I wire them in flex or use twin and earth cable?
If I use T and E do I cut the earth back or put it in choc blocks?
If I use T and E do I cut (or choc block) both ends of the cables or should the earths be connected at the JB end?
Thanks for your help!
