Hi guys.

I'm having problems with pressure keep going up and prv letting water pour out down my outside garden wall and looks a mess and also I think the 3 way mid position valve is stuck as when water comes in the heating does to.

I have brought a brand new filling loop and new 3 way mid position valve to replace.

Now how do you do it, I have a red vessel thing system how do I drain it and refill it.

Thanks guys

You need to understand what your system needs first. No point in just buying things and throwing them on.

As suggested, if the pressure rises when the system is on, the red vessel (EV) needs checked and either serviced or replaced. The 3 port may be at fault but wiring, programmer etc needs checked first. System sounds like it needs a good service and some fault finding, not so easy to DIY.

I swapped over the filling loop new valve. Where do u put the inhibitor.

Thought was loft tank, but my system fills up from mains I think

You haven't got a loft tank (feed/expansion tank for the heating system). You've likely got a CWST in the loft, don't put chemical in there!

My old 3 way position valve was a ACL 22mm and it got replaced with new shiny silver one with metal lever.

I took photo of the old acl wiring and also written it down on piece paper the wiring. The new valve had the same colour wiring and so I copied it like for like.

Now the new one makes a terrible buzzing noise and creaking. It also doesn't seem to move. My old acl u could see it on move on W= water M = middle H = heating.

Cheers guys

I really think you need to bite the bullet and get someone in who knows what they're doing. Central Heating wiring is a nightmare, did the old Valve ever work properly? Needs going through, all the conductors identifying as to what goes where, and then connecting up. At this rate you risk frying the boiler or Yourself.

After I replaced the filling loop and mid position valve. The red expansion vessel was so heavy I undone the nut and was full of water, I empty out in bath and it was black water and smelt bad.

Is this correct

no it's not correct , the first reply told you to change it

Cheers guys.

I've brought a expansion vessel and says pre charged at 1.5. On the guage in airing cupboard the red plastic line on the outer side of gauge reads 1.0, but when the system kept rising up above pressure 1 bar upto over 3 bar the valve downstairs by boiler let water out down my back wall.

Is this new expansion vessel going to be ok. Thanks any help from plumbers appreciated.
