Just before we had a new kitchen fitted (and on ripping out the old one ) I fitted the old kitchen sink in the integral garage. It was a temporary thing but I've decided to keep it as its handy for washing decorating brushes and also when I'm working on the car etc.
I plumbed the old sink waste pipe into an existing waste pipe that led from the utility sink, into and along the garage wall (where I teed into it) then outside to a soil stack that serves an upstairs ensuite loo, shower and sink. Apart from cleaning the old fittings /pipes every was fitted as before. The waste pipe runs at a gentle angle from the utility through the garage wall along and outside into the soil stack.
The issue is I get a drain smell from the sink in the garage. It's not a massive problem due to location and I just stick the plugs in. The sink in the utility is fine - no smell from that. I'm just wondering if this a problem relating to my 'design' - I literally teed into an existing waste pipe or indicative of a problem / blockage with the soil stack.
Cheers
