Drainage hole in front wall?

Hi

My wife has an existing property that we’re getting ready to put on the market. At the front of the house there is a hole in the concrete below the brickwork (please see photos). Water trickles out occasionally but not into any drain. Is this a potential concern both from the source of the water and the drainage or does it look normal?

(The house is on a former miners estate and was one of a large number completely rebuilt around 25-30 years ago due to the presence of red ash.)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Matt

Are you on a hill?
Hi John

Sort of. We’re in the Staffordshire Moorlands so at a high level in general but the area where the house is is on flat ground but not the lowest point in the town. Hope that makes sense!

I was thinking of water running downhill and into your subfloor void.

The water must be coming from somewhere. Could be a broken gulley or drain.
