We have experienced a few problems with the drains since moving to our new house.

Today however for the first time i notices the water overflowing from the gully trap when we let out the bath water, on further inspection it look as if the drain was blocked with toilet roll and other unmentionables. How is it possible for this to get into the standard waste gully trap?

Once i hosed this all out the drains is working fine again, i have flushed the toilet a few times and everything seems OK.

Should i be taking any specific action to stop this happening again?

This is my first post on this site so assistance for the newby would be appreciated

Cheers
Steve

Backwash from inspection chamber - indicates a blockage further downstream, possibly historical. Put peg on nose and lift nearest 'man'hole cover.
