draining down

hi all i wish to move 3 radiators upstairs only by a couple of inches as i have had new windows fitted and want rads under the windows is it possible to just drain half of the system and if so how do i do this and is it then possible to then alter pipework either way with it half drained hope this makes sense

all you need to do is crack one of the valves when it stops dripping wait 5 mins and your good to go
