How do I drain the fuel tank on my 2001 Fiesta. Daughter put £20 of petrol in on Friday and on Saturday the piston rings went so now trading car in but I want to drain the tank. Have tried syphoning but before I sucked I blew and listened for bubbles but just heard air coming back up the pipe. I pushed the hose in as far as it would go before hitting something solid so assuming there is some kind of grill/filter to stop you using this method. Is there a pipe underneath that I can release and drain the fuel out that way?
