I'm considering replumbing my central heating system because it's currently a single loop system and most of the raditors have seen better days. But the boiler and hot water cylinder are fine.

I'm quite confident that I should be able carry out this work. My only fear is that I'm not going to be able to carry out this work in one or two days. So I'm going to need the production of hot water from the boiler to continue. I'm I right to assume that if the Themostat is turn down fully that this would be enough for me to drain the system and not interfere with the hot water production in the cylinder.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

No,you can't do it.Your best bet is to buy a immersion heater for your water cylinder for hot water which is also useful as a back up.
