Hi all,

I'm new here and new to DIY!

I'm about to be buying my first house and there is no cupboard under the stairs. I was going to build a typical hole in the wall with a door covering it, but have since seen some that are drawers. I don't mean like the large pull out bins which go from floor to staircase, I mean like an actual chest of drawers built in under the stairs. There's an image here:

I don't know how to embed sorry!

I can't seem to find any instruction for these anywhere.

Anyone have any ideas? I have access to all kinds of tools, so that shouldn't be an issue. Just need a step by step guide!!

Thank you,

Nikki

Good idea once saw a similar storage solution in a loft using the eaves space.

Depends on you level of skill as a woodworker, most easy way might be erect three frames / boards from front to back at each side and in the centre.
I suspect the sloping ends are just overhangs from an oblong shaped draw.
Fit a panel across at the bottom to meet the floor.
Buy draw kits that come with runners and three sides. Then make the drawer fronts.
Fit the runners to the frames pop the draws in and stand back to admire!

Hi Footprints,

Thanks for your reply, my woodwork skill is low...I have my step dad who can instruct me, but due to the stroke he had a few months ago he cannot do it himself.

If you were to place it on a difficulty scale from 1-10 where would you think it would fall?

I'm hoping someone will see this and remember seeing a step by step guide somewhere!
