I had a problem in that my radiators weren't getting warm and suspected an acuator problem. I could maually move the lever at the top of the unit and the rads would get warm.
I've fitted a new acuator keeping the locking lever to the right as per instructions. This lever should 'unlock' when the wiring is connected and it recieves a signal 240v. The problem is 'it isn't unlocking' even though the indicator on the side is saying W for hot water the rads are also heating up(the locked position opens both ports) even when the unit is not reciving a signal on the white wire.(rads).
Could this new unit be knackered? I suspect it had been wired in previously as the insulation had been cut back. Any tips gratefully accepted. Keefer58.

OK sorted this one myself. Disconnected the orange wire from the junction box so it couldn't call for hot water. Turned up the roomstat to call for central heating via the white wire. This caused the lever to move out of the locked position on the acuator. Reconnected the orange wire. All working fine.
