Hi

We have a drayton +rf3 wireless set up. Have woken up this morning to a colder house as the heating hasnt come on.

Looking at the thermostat, looks ok with flame on but no lights on SCR - not even a red one. Tried hitting override button and the unit buzzed loudly and green light came on for about 3 seconds and then went off!

Presume the scr is shot?

If i remove the 3 core wiring to the scr will this enable the previous honeywell controller to work the heating again in the interim? (still controls hot water)

TIA

Why on earth did you change the honeywell for a drayont?
If the old one is still ok, you should be able to swap them, but make sure you do it safely as you are working on 230V.
