Hi,
we have a Halstead combi boiler purchased from Wickes which was installed approx 14 years ago.
We recently noticed a very small puddle on the work bench under the boiler. The water is dripping from a small hose (about pencil thickness) hanging out about 1 inch under the centre of the boiler. Approx 1 drip per hour.
Any idea why its doing this?

Incidentally, Halstead have been amazing with after service help.
When the boiler was approx 8 years old it went off. Holstead told me over the phone how to reset the boiler within minutes.
Then 2 years ago, the 12 year old boiler needed a new diaghrapm. Our plumber said the part would be approx £150.00 to purchase + £70.00 labour to fit.
We phoned Holstead ourselves and Halstead posted us a new diaghragm free of charge within 48 hours!
The disgruntled plumber could only charge £70.00 fitting.

Anyway, any advice about the dripping hose would be appreciated.

ok,

just noticed that the dripping stops and the hose drys up when the heating is on. The dripping returns when the boiler cools down.

is this normal?

( the hose looks like its there for this purpose. Its similar to the hose on a car with air-con which hangs underneath the car and drips out the condensation/water collected by the air con unit).

Some halsteads have a bit of clear 5 or 6 mm tubing coming from the aav.
