Drum Paddles breaking off in Hotpoint Aquarius Wash. Machine

Have replaced 3 Drum Paddles in the last week on washing machine which is not even a year old yet and washed some towels tonight and the 3 new ones have snapped off again....What is the problem???? Please help !!

Possibly the bracket that holds the element in place has become, displaced, and is catching the feet of the paddles when the drum rotates. With a torch to brighten things, turn the drum slowly to see if there is anything catching. If it's all the paddles then i'd bet that is the problem. You could remove a paddle to check for the positioning.

With the paddles there should have followed a procedure describing how to lock them in place using a wire hook through the centre hole in each paddle once fitted (to lift & lock the retaining tag). Did you do that?

common problem on them, our service guys just keep sticking new paddles in. the plastic clips are brittle and are always breaking...

Screw them in and don't use trainers or big towel on it's own , they bash against the paddles and snap off, very common problem.
