Hello everyone.
I know very little about roofing so I'd thought I would ask here.
I have had two different roofing contractors tell me that this ridge either needs repointing/rebedding or replacing with a dry fix system. I sent this image to a third contractor today who told me that this is a dry fix system. I believe the ridge is the original from the 80s.
My questions are:
- Is this definitely a dry fix system?
- If it is a dry fix system, can the bedding mortar at the bottom of the ridge be removed and replaced, or would the whole ridge require complete replacement?
- As someone with knowledge about roofing, what would you recommend I do with the ridge in this state? There are no leaks coming through into the roof space and the roof is otherwise fine.
Thank you for your time.
