Dry-lining a solid 14" brick (brick & half) wall.
I'll put membrane & insulation between timbers, but wondering if there's no ventilation behind the plasterboard, is there a chance of any rot?

Didn't want to go to the expense of impregnated timber. (Although I'll give the frame a brush-on preservative). Timber will be 75mm brick to pb. and filled with Kingspan.

I know this has been covered before, but just want to clear up the thing about air movement behind pb. Is it necessary?

No need for a ventilated space if you fully fill the void. It should be fine if the pointing or render on the outside is in good nick. However if it's a particularly exposed wall you may want to put some dpc behind the battens.

Yes, I presume a breathable membrane between the brick and battens is the preferred method.
Then, as you say, the void filled with insulation.

Not a breather membrane. it's purely to stop the timber getting wet through the wall. so you need a bit of dpc/dpm

I'm wondering how much ingress he'll get through a 14" solid wall. :?:
