I am knocking through a 9" wall to fit a dryer vent. If I knock through directly from where the hole in the dryer sits the vent will be approx 12" off the ground outside. Is this ok or is there a minimum recommended height? Please advise :)

I assume it is for a tumble dryer, in that case it will be fine. Just make sure the hose does not ket kinked and that you regularly clean the "anti - insect" mesh on the part on the outside of the wall ( I "fixed" a friends tumble dyer it was no longer drying the clothes, the anti insect screen was full of fluff, preventing air flow)

A common risk of house fires too. Personally I dont believe in the clothes shrinking contraptions myself, but if used regulary the filter must be cleaned at regular intervals for efficiency and fire safety.
