My Hall light has failed! It has a switch at both ends of the stairs so is in a dual switch circuit
I have removed each switch and tested with a meter to find that they both work correctly.
There appears to be power in the circuit but I dont get 240 Volts.
Possibly the eath side has open circuited?

The mains board has not tripped and other lights are working
Does anyone have a circuit diagrame or possibly some advice on how to test.

Thanks

Rob

diagrams are in for reference. from that you should be able to work out what to test

have you done any DIY work recently what could have damaged a cable?

You don't get 240v where ? At the switch, or the light bulb ?

Assuming 240v at switch but not the lamp, it suggests to me that the final leg of the circuit, from switch to rose (or junction box) to lamp may have a break.

(The black or blue wire hopefully covered on each end with red or brown sleeving)

May be a good first place to check ?
