Are you saying that you have an LPG boiler, and that you want to add a solid-fuel boiler to the system, and that you want both to be connected to a DHW cylinder?

In that case you'll a new cylinder with two coils instead of one, and an additional primary circuit.

You also need to decide how the heating circuit(s) will be supplied.

In short, you need to design it.

What you need is a H2 control system from a company called Heating Innovations. This basically shunts hot water from solid fuel boiler into system as it gets hotter.

When solid fuel boiler goes cold your automated system will kick back in.
My mates in the process of fitting one between a villager model a stove and a Trianco electric boiler in his 3 bedroom terrace house:cool:
The control system is £500 + vat at moment

A simpler but cruder way would be to fit a twin coil cylinder and an extra radiator in upstairs rooms. The hot water would flow by gravity round second coil and through extra rads. As the secondary rads get hot the Thermostatic Control Valves on lpg rads will shut them down. Not as efficient but a lot simpler!

Use a thermal store/heat bank. Perfect for this sort of thing.
