Ducting question for portable air conditioning unit

Eyup all, another DIY beginner question!

So I have finally bought a portable air con unit for the bedroom after years of talking about it. It's only a cheapish 9000BTU one, but it'll be fine for the bedroom.

It comes with a window kit, but I'm not mega fond of the faff and prefer things to look 'right' wherever possible.

Is it generally 'the done thing' to core drill a ducting hole in a wall to run the hot air exhaust to? Or do people just generally live with using a window kit?

I realise I'd probably have to hire a core drill etc to drill the 150mm hold, but then what would I use? Some plastic pipe and some sort of vent on the external wall and a connection piece on the interior?

I don't mind doing the work if that is the best way to go about it, but it's all new to me (just bought the house we've been renting for the last 12 years)

For reference, it's a 3 bed semi with a driveway running down the same side that the bedroom is on, so I would have the option to come out the side of the house if needed.

Both my portable air con units that I bought a long long time ago came with all the bits to either fit a hole in the wall fixing kit or a window faff about load of stuff. I haven't used either as I just bung my flexi hose out of the top window. Have you actually listened to your unit? I know I said I bought mine a long time ago but I couldn't have either of mine in the bedroom, they are way too loud when running.
