I have bought Dulux trade for a few years and so haven't really had any experiance with Dulux B&Q, so other than a thicker consistency what are the differences?

Trade is better pigmented and as you say its thicker which allows the user to thin down a bit to personal taste, it covers better as a result and most colours two coats does the job fine. However Dulux are rapidly going down hill and their emulsion is now quite poor because they've substituted quality ingredients for those of a lesser quality. Johnstones is better.
