durapipe ???

Hello, My early 1970's place has a black rubber service pipe. Its about 20/21 mm thick, Plumbcenter fella reckons it may be called "durapipe" but not sure. The bloke in GRAHAMS sold me a black JG reducer but im not convinced as I think this pipe was made in between the imperial and metric days. Anyone got any ideas please?

More likely to be alkathene.

Durapipe was high pressure plastic with solvent (glued fittings) And quite rigid

3/4" olive will fit - make sure there is a liner in the pipe - it`ll most likely be class D alkathene . Imperial/metric change didn`t affect it - I was there

Thanks gents. Its not rigid so must be the other one and I've got an insert from the original. I had a 22mm pushfit reducer on it for 6 months before it failed. As I walked in the front door I could hear the water hitting the underneath of the floorboards on the other side of the house.

Philmac 3G fittings fit straight on to alkathene without adaptors.

Aahh, but High Density of Low Density?

Class 'C' was used more than 'D'. In my area, anyway.
