Dyson cord won't stay out

Hi all,
anyone know about Dyson DC02 cleaners?
Basically the power flex won't stay out. It keeps wanting to recoil back into its home, so when i'm using the full cord it sometimes pulls the plug out of the wall as its always taught.

Any ideas on how to fix it would be appreciated.

It sounds like you need a new cord reel...Dyson part number DYS901735-01 http://www.vacuumcleanersparesuk.co.uk/acatalog/DCO2_SPARES.html The bad new is that according to the link they are obsolete now Typical Dyson. Best workaround in the absence of available spares? Pull the cord fully out & fasten a knot in it or use cable ties/duct-tape....alternatively throw it in a skip & buy a decent vacuum cleaner.
