m/c worked normally until after decorating project .. then got the nickname "screaming vera" .. m/c taken apart (inc filters) and thoroughly cleaned .. best suction ever but you need ear defenders to use our "vera" ... have i done the motor in or can it be rectified ? :oops:

The motor bearings (bushes) have run dry....if you can access the motor, a drop or two on each bush will work wonders!
There's a hidden filter under the dust drum.
