Been out and about today on the choo choos. I was under the impression that e-bikes etc were not allowed on their trains or platforms. I must be mistaken because there were a fair few (4) on the trains I used. There was a sign in one of the trains which stated "no e-scooters or e-unicycles allowed" but nothing about e-bikes. Does anyone know if e-bikes are allowed on trains? seems a bit strange not to list them.

AFAIK e-bikes are classed as ordinary bikes on trains, usual restrictions may apply such as off peak travel only depending on the operator

A colleague has told me that he cannot take an ebike on train or bus now.
So I suspect it depends upon the train/bus company in your area.

In fact he also said that he cannot take an ordinary bike on the bus (in the storage area of a coach) because it's a blanket ban.
What trouble blankets can cause I have no idea :)

If you have a detachable battery, you can always remove it and put it in your back pack before going on the train :)
