Hello all,
Not being a qualified electrician, can I install an earth from the stopcock to the fusebox?

Also, does the kitchen sink itself need earthing, as there may not be a good contact through the sink body to the earth strap on the pipe due to plumber's tape etc.. ?

Pluss.. what thickness of wire would be needed?

many thanks for any advice

Of course you can, and if you don't have this already you should. No need to bond the sink. 10mm2 copper all in one piece. You also need to connect it to the pipe using one of these and it should be able to be seen by anybody who wants to check it.

Regulations say if at all possible needs to be connected within 600mm of where it enters your house, not neccessarily where the stopcock is. The same applies to any other metal pipe coming in from outside - gas, oil etc.
