forgive me I'm no electrician but in my Apt I have two storage heaters the main controls the on in the hall, but the overnight "boost" isn't working if i however flick the switch on for "instant" heat that works and the same with the boiler if i flick the immersion on it will heat up hot water but it wont heat up overnight like it should, any ideas what could be causing the failure of the overnight boost? any help appreciated

Economy 7 meter/timer failed? E7 consumer unit/fuseboard turned off at main switch? Have you checked the night tariff reading on your meter to see if it ever changes?
thanks like I said I'm a complete novice I've no idea which is the night tariff or where the main fuse is! where would be the Economy7 timer?
Post a photo of your meter(s), fusebox(es) and things around them, including the cables, please
