Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me? There's so much conflicting advice online that I'm proper confused!
We have laid a pre-grooved chipboard floor and want to Tile it but don't know what to put inbetween.
It's a suspended timber floor. The grooved chipboard is secured directly onto the joists, with insulation inbetween. Aluminium heart spreader plates fit into the groves, with the ufh pipes sitting in them. But what goes next? So many different options for different types of floor that i don't know what applies to us:
Option 1: primer, flexi adhesive, decoupling membrane, flexi adhesive, tile
Option 2: 6mm ply, prime, flexi adhesive, tile
Option 3: primer, flexi adhesive, 6mm hardi backer board, flexi adhesive, tile
Optoon 4: other ideas?
We want the smallest height build up possible, with good heat transfer, but it's the kitchen floor so don't want things to crack as it will be a nightmare to replace under all the units.
Any advice?
Cheers x
