electric Hob Wiring (sorry)

hello All.

I need to extend a 6mm cable to run across the opposite site of a kitchen.
I was really wondering if its better to use a 60amp junction box, or if it would be possible to join with a 45amp dp switch, then run the cable to another 45amp cooker switch? the total lenght of the extended cable is about 3.8m routed through plasterboard / ceiling.

If the cable is routed through plasterboard, the joint must be accessible, so if the junction box can not be accessed for inspection and testing and you can not use the junction box. If you can not install a new cable without joints, I don't see a problem installing a second isolator.

Many thanks, think I will go for the junction box option as it will be accessible...and would rather not have that many joints before the hob.

But your only making one extra joint regardless of which of your methods you use!
It must be accessible for inspection and testing, not just accessible.
So the junction box must be easy to get to, so it can be visually inspected and easy access of testing equipment.
If you get what I mean?
